Tumbleweed Project

The tumbleweed is among the heartiest of weeds, being the first growth to reestablish itself on atomic testing sites in the state of Nevada. The past is suggested in the imagery of the Old West evoked from the simple, tangled lines of the tumbleweeds. Simultaneously, the future of the Midwestern city is represented by the contemporary color palettes and forms used in this installation. These works tell a tale of the Midwestern history in the USA through the imagery of tumbleweeds that not long ago still rolled plentifully through these urban and rural areas. Exhibited at:
